Sebastián Báez Bets on New Title in Chile

Argentinian tennis player Sebastián Báez will compete this Sunday for a new title facing Serbian Laslo Djere in the final of the ATP 250 in Chile. Báez, who recently successfully defended his title at the ATP 500 in Rio, has shown great character by reaching his second consecutive final.

On his way to the final, Báez defeated his compatriot Francisco Comesaña in a closely contested second round match that was decided in the tie-break. Subsequently, in the quarter-finals, he won in straight sets against Bosnian Damir Dzumhur, and in the semi-finals, he needed three sets to overcome Camilo Ugo Carabelli.

If he wins, this would be Báez's eighth title at just 24 years old. Among his previous achievements are the ATP 250 titles in Estoril 2022, Córdoba, Kitzbühel, and Winston-Salem 2023, as well as Santiago 2024 and the ATP 500 titles in Rio in 2024 and 2025. On the other hand, Laslo Djere reaches the final after an outstanding performance in the Argentina Open, managing to eliminate opponents like Ignacio Buse, Pedro Martínez, Jaime Faria, and Francisco Cerúndolo, and with the possibility of returning to the top 100 of the ATP ranking starting next week.

The exciting match between Báez and Djere is scheduled for 7:30 PM (Argentina time), promising a high-level sporting spectacle for tennis fans.
